Chris Fields Jr. signs with Camels

May 19, 2025

Buies Creek - Campbell has signed Chris Fields Jr., an incoming junior out of the transfer portal from Norfolk State. Fields Jr., a 6'7" forward, averaged 8.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game last season for the MEAC champion Spartans.

"Chris is a forward from Virginia that had a very productive season scoring and rebounding for Norfolk State," head coach John Andrzejek said. "I got to see him firsthand in our NCAA Tournament matchup in Raleigh, where he scored 14 points against our Gator defense.

"Chris thrives in transition and can score in a variety of ways: drives, post-ups, short rolls, offensive rebounds, etc. He also has a big heart and really wants to be at Campbell. We are excited to coach him!"

The Petersburg, Va. product appeared in 24 games and made two starts, but finished as the fourth-leading scorer and third-leading rebounder for Norfolk State.

Fields Jr. made the most of his two starts, scoring 13 at UMES and a career-high 23 against Delaware State. He stuffed the stat sheet against Delaware State with 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.

After helping his squad to a conference title, Fields Jr. scored 14 points in the first round of the NCAA tournament against Coach Andrzejek and the eventual national champion Florida Gators.

As a freshman, he averaged 6.9 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. He poured in a career-high 31 against Virginia-Lynchburg, and followed that performance with 19 points against Coppin State a week later.
